Context
Within the framework of the EU strategy for engagement with civil society, the EU is committed to support Egypt in advancing the goals set out in Egypt’s “Sustainable Development Strategy – Vision 2030” aiming to build a stable and prosperous country. Civil society is an important and powerful contributor to a transparent and participatory governance and in supporting the sustainable development process underway.
Goals
This strategic partnership establishes a long-term cooperation between the European Commission and PPI with the aim to contribute to the objectives of the Union policy in the field of engagement with civil society in line with the 2012 Communication on the “Roots of Democracy and Sustainable Development: Europe’s engagement with Civil Society in External Relations”.
Through this strategic partnership, PPI’s objective is to foster the economic empowerment of women and men who work for sustainable and equitable economic development. More specifically, PPI supports the economic empowerment through inclusive economy of the most disadvantaged populations while actively contributing to gender equality and the preservation of the environment.
